Live Nation Entertainment joins (RED) in fight against AIDS

Live Nation Entertainment announced on Wednesday that it has joined (RED) to help raise funds for the Global Fund to fight AIDS through and purchases.

People who purchase concert, sports, theatre and family event tickets through and can add a $5.00 donation to their cart to help support the Global Fund now through December 15.

Live Nation has also agreed to make a donation to the Global Fund every time a person downloads the Live Nation or Ticketmaster mobile apps, which are both available for free download in the iTunes and Android mobile stores.

One hundred percent of all donations will go directly to the Global Fund to help support programs for the prevention and treatment of HIV infections in Africa.

"We are working together with (RED) to fight for an AIDS Free Generation," Live Nation President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Rapino said. "Through our efforts we will not only help raise funds that are critical to enabling the work of the Global Fund, but we will help raise awareness with the 32+ million live entertainment fans that use our mobile apps and visit our websites each month."

Since its inception, (RED) has helped raise more than $215 million for the Global Fund to fight AIDS and for grants to fight HIV/AIDS throughout Africa. Its contributions have reached more than 14 million people.
