Novartis and Malaria No More launch Power of One campaign

Novartis and Malaria No More announced on Monday the launch of a joint initiative titled the "Power of One," a campaign to engage everyday people around the world in the fight against malaria.

Through the partnership, Novartis will support the campaign financially and has agreed to donate up to three million Coartem Dispersible treatments to match public funded donations.

"I am proud of the significant and longstanding commitment Novartis has to the fight against malaria. For all our progress though, there's still more work to do" Novartis CEO Joseph Jimenez said. "We need more help to close the treatment gap and Power of One offers everyone a chance to engage and make a difference for children suffering from malaria."

The Power of One is running social, e-commerce and mobile campaigns to empower everyday people to purchase a malaria vaccine for a child in-need. Founders of the program have asked people to get their friends excited about donating too. With a little bit of collective effort, the founders are hoping to see the day that no one dies of malaria.

"It's unacceptable that a child dies every minute for lack of a dollar's worth of treatment," Malaria No More CEO Martin Edlund said. "We're urging the world to join the Power of One campaign and to donate and engage their friends in this fight."
