NACCHO announces new president
Since 2004, Allan has served 850,000 residents and thousands of business in the Greater Cleveland area as the CCBH's Health Commissioner. During his time at the CCBH, childhood lead-poisoning rates were reduced by more than 50 percent and the CCBH was able to widen its regional services.
A proponent of working together and community involvement, Allan brings 24 years of public health experience to his new position as the president of NACCHO. Allan is also a member of the Health Improvement Partnership-Cuyahoga leadership teams, which works for the creation of community-wide health initiative in Cuyahoga County. Allan has been on NACCHO's Board of Directors since 2007.
Also announced was NACCHO's new president elect, Georgia F. Heise, Director of the Three Rivers Health Department in Owenton, Kentucky. She has worked as NACCHO's vice president since June 2012.
Heise practices to a population of 50,000 in the rural Kentucky counties of Carroll, Gallatin, Owen and Pendelton. The organization she works for, Three Rivers Health Department, was the first cohort of public health departments to be given accreditation by the Public Health Accreditation Board.
