Walgreens released its latest flu index for the week of February 23 today.

The weekly Walgreens Flu Index is an analytical report that publishes state- and market-specific information about regional flu activity. The index ranks the areas with the most influenza cases throughout the U.S.

For the week of February 23,  the 10 cities with the most flu activity are Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Jackson, Mississippi; Ft. Smith, Arkansas; Little Rock; Arkansas; El Paso, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Knoxville, Tennessee; Huntsville; Alabama; San Antonio, Texas; and Birmingham, Alabama.  

The top 10 states with the most flu activity include: Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Kansas, Alabama and Nebraska.

In contrast, the index includes a list of the 10 cities with the most gains against the seasonal flu: Birmingham, Alabama; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Atlanta, Georgia; Paducah, Kentucky;  Green Bay, Wisconsin; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Champaign, Illinois; Denver, Colorado; Greenville, South Carolina; and Dayton, Ohio. 

The index also mentions the top 10 states with the most gains in flu prevention, including Alabama, Georgia, Colorado, Illinois, Mississippi, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Minnesota.
