CDC announces 600 measles cases for 2014

According to a report from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, over 600 measles cases were reported in 2014.


This is the highest amount since 2000, which is when the U.S. officially announced that it had eliminated the virus within its borders.


In addition, over 1,150 mumps cases were confirmed in 2014, which is also a significant increase compared to earlier years. Many of these cases were found on college campuses throughout the U.S.
