Health officials have announced that the highly pathogenic strain of bird flu known as H5N2 has affected more than 25 million birds throughout 11 states within the U.S. and it continues to spread.

Health officials suspect that the virus is spreading from wild birds to domestic flocks, which is causing the outbreak.

Flame Engineering has issued recommendations for combating its spread, suggesting that poultry farmers take drastic measures such as an efficient biosecurity program. Such programs are crucial for treating bird flu and preventing it from spreading even farther across the nation.

Birds can contract the infection several ways, including contact with vehicles, other birds, equipment and farm personnel. The bird flu is known to survive for significant amounts of time outside of its host.

The current PL 8750 Dragon Poultry House Sanitizer recently showed that it is efficient in eliminating bacteria, pathogen and viruses such as the bird flu. The sanitizer kills all possible viral threats by burning propane fuel a 1,400-degree flame beneath the unit housing.
