Global Fund appoints new chief information officer
Tuxford has significant experience in leading pharmaceutical and financial services and most recently worked for the global financial services company Credit Suisse. At Credit Suisse, he served as the chief operating officer of corporate services technology, the head of human resources information technology and vice president, among other positions.
"Paul is the right person to help us guide us in developing information technology that improves our efficiency and professionalism," Daniel Camus, the Global Fund's chief financial officer, said. "Paul is a strong technology delivery leader with a great track record of success."
Tuxford also served as the director of global IT business solutions for Quintiles, a pharmaceutical research company.
The appointment of Tuxford is part of organizational changes in the fund's finance division to develop a modern, robust and sustainable division with a highly professional team, state-of-the-art automated systems and fluid financial core processes.
Tuxford started the position on Monday and will report to Camus.
The Global Fund works with partners around the world to galvanize support for the battle against AIDS, TB and malaria. The organization looks to take advantage of new advances in science and apply practical experience to remove the three diseases as threats to public health.
