NIAID hiring associate chief

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Insitutes of Health, is hiring an associate chief for clinical trials operations at its Vaccine Research Center.

In addition to managing a staff of approximately seven, the successful applicant will oversee data management, strategies, conduct and protocol development. The chosen applicant also will analyze data from both clinical and translation research concerning vaccine immunology. Aside from managerial responsibilities, the new associate chief will mentor junior clinicians, scientists and clinical fellows.

Physician candidates must have either a medical degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, with experience in conducting clinical trials of investigational products. Vaccine or monoclonal antibody clinical research, as well as board certification in internal medicine, are preferred.

The application period will close on March 31.

Scientists and science administrators at NIAID study all of the various aspects of infectious diseases and allergies.  They develop and apply programs in basic, clinical and translational research, which support the research that is essential to treating and preventing diseases.
